Impact Baseball traveled to Wendell, North Carolina this afternoon for this edition of "Under The Gun" with Jake Lewis. What's the outlook for Corinth-Holders this coming year?

This year we are shooting to win the conference championship and get into the playoffs.

My personal goals this year are to improve off the mound from last year and really battle for my team. I have really worked hard in order to increase my game innings and velocity.

What's a typical day like for Jake Lewis?

I wake up, go lift weights for an hour and then head to school.  After school I go to baseball from about 2:30-6:00 after baseball, I usually stay a little late to get my distance running in.

Being a pitcher, what's your mindset when you toe the rubber that day?

I always try to fill up the zone with all of my pitches and play my game. I don’t let the other team get in my head.

Watching you pitch last fall in Fort Myers, Florida you were very impressive coming in and getting the job done. What did you take away from that experience?

I came into the games in Fort Myers, Florida in some tight situations. I took away from that experience, that if you stay focused and determined you will get the job done.

Who's the best hitter you have faced up to this point of your career?

Sam Berman at CHHS, he can hit the gaps like nobody’s business!
